We prefer to turn our computer off when not in use. Usually we turn off when we know that we are done for that day or when we are not using it for an extended period of time like when we go to work or out to run a bunch of errands. Why do we do this? Simply put, we believe that it reduces the risk of fire caused by electrical malfunction. As with any appliance, your computer poses a potential fire hazard. Other reasons to turn off the PC include saving energy and giving Microsoft Windows a fresh start. As per expert experience, the longer Windows is running, the flakier it gets. A daily reboot refreshes the system and often breathes new life into the computer. There are those that suggest leaving your PC on for as long as you can. They say that this reduces wear and tear on the electrical components by not subjecting them to the surge of electricity as it comes and goes when you turn the computer on and off. |
